Saltlick Safari Lodge Tour

Saltlick Game Lodge is located in the heart of the Taita Hills wildlife sanctuary and is a truly unique architectural concept consisting of 96 distinctively luxurious Oval shaped rooms, overlooking a waterhole which attracts a large array of wildlife, especially elephants.

In the evening the animals gather at the waterhole a spectacular site to behold, to drink at the watering hole. The restaurant which serves international and local cuisine and terraced bar command spectaculars views of the waterhole and surrounding grasslands, and there is an underground tunnel and chamber allowing guests to closely and safety view wildlife at ground level.

Itinerary

AT 05:00 AM Pickup from Hotel for Saltlick Lodge

You will be picked at 05.00 am in the morning for Saltlick Safari Lodge. This early tour will not include any stop over. It will take us approximately 4hrs to reach the destination.

AT 09:30 AM Arrival at the Lodge

Upon arrival at the Safari Lodge, we shall check-in and have our main breakfast and start the morning game drive. This time you have a chance of seeing the big cats of Tsavo and other animals. This game drive will take us up to lunch time hour around 12:30 pm.

AT 12:30 PM Lunch Break at Saltlick Safari Lodge

This lunch will be a bit longer compared to others as it will require enough time to rest due to our early departure from our hotel. It will go up to 14:30 pm in the afternoon. AT 15:00 PM Evening Game Drive

We shall Proceed for another game drive at 15.00 pm until 17.00 pm where we have an opportunity to see a variety of animals. Taita Hills wild life sanctuary was founded by the Hilton early seventies. It covers an area of 24,000 Ha. Physical attractions include thorny bushes, acacia forests, arid and savannah, swamp and Taita hills among others. Animals found here include elephants, lions, cheetah, zebras, giraffes, and many different types of birds such as ostriches, horny bills, guinea fowls, kingfishers and weaver birds.

AT 17:30 PM Return Back to Our Hotel

After a very long day at the Safari Lodge. Now its time to go back to our hotel and recall the experiences of the day. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
